Dr. Kitz grew up in a small farm town southeast of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She got her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Cornell University in 1997. Dr. Kitz graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine in 2001.
After graduation she moved to Texas in 2001 (to quote Dr. Kitz: “I got here as fast as I could”) where she worked in a mixed animal practice for 6 years before deciding to focus on small animal medicine. She became a permanent member of the AMCOP veterinary staff in 2009.
You may run into Dr. Kitz at the Animal Emergency Clinic of Collin County where she works part time as well.
In her spare time she enjoys reading, trail riding, hiking & camping, water sports, hunting, target shooting, and watching football (“Go Steelers!”). Also to quote her: “Mostly I am a homebody; I enjoy working around my new home in Rockwall and hanging with my crew of furred friends…. Maverick, (a 7-year-old Lab/Shepherd/poodle mix), Bean a (4-year-old Bull terrier/poodle mix), Snowflake and Hope (the lazy house cats), Ricky (the lazy barn cat who only recently killed his first mouse), and Glorious Tune (a ten-year-old retired racehorse).
Dr. Kitz is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Dallas County Veterinary Medical association. |
